General Ledger gives you advanced general leader and financial reporting, designed to meet the needs of today’s businesses.  Entries can be posted to current, previous, or future periods from any Visual Produce application.  Flexible report formats provide comprehensives financial, comparative, and audit trail options.

 

Features of General Ledger

  • Flexible account structure allows you to define account numbers of up to 24 digits.
  • Lets you define up to six account segments, allowing you to track information for multiple cost centers, departments locations, product lines, etc.

  • Open period posting allows you to post entries from any application to any period in a three-year posting window in detail or summary.

  • Statistical accounts help you relate statistical measurements (square footage, number of employees, etc.) with financial results.

  • Enables you to design custom groups of accounts for budgeting and reporting purposes.

  • Allows you to consolidate, edit, and report information from multiple companies and various periods. 

  • Account inquiries give easy access to on-line information for any account, including the ability to “drill down” to audit complete source detail for any posting.

  • Exports and imports budget data to and from popular spreadsheets.

  • Multiple account maintenance provides a convenient method for adding or deleting multiple accounts in one step. 

  • Setup switches give you the options to force printing of edit and audit lists and/or batch control amounts to ensure accurate journal entries.

  • Supports four types of automatic entries including “standard” entry templates, recurring entries, automatic distribution entries, and predefined percentage or dollar amount entries.

  • Allows you to enter a brief comment about each journal entry line.

  • External files in a variety of formats can be imported into GL, with complete validation and review prior to posting.

  • User-defined headers and footers, subtotaling and column definition let you tailor report formats without creating custom reports.

  • Allows you to predefine a group of reports and their options for automatic printing.

  • Includes an option to post a reversing entry to any period automatically.

  • Provides accounting for up to 99 companies.

  • "Safe Post” feature prevents posting out-of-balance transactions to your General Ledger.
